What is the Difference between Cushion Tire and Pneumatic Tire?
Knowing the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts is among the most popular questions regarding this kind of machinery. Each tire type is particularly suited for different requirements.
Pneumatic Tires have air in them, like tires on a vehicle. These tires are great for indoor application but they are most effective in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.
Cushion tires are made as a solid industrial tire that is used mostly for indoor operation. These tires can be used outdoors on just asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outdoors, there is an alternative to get traction tires on the front of the machinery. These are referred to as the drive tires. The back tires or the steer tires are specifically made for steering. Traction tires located on the forklift's rear will just wear out quicker. Thus, if you do have to work outside, having traction on the front and the smooth tires on the rear will be the safest and most economical way to operate.
What is the difference between Solid Pneumatic and Air Pneumatic tires?
It can be quite tricky when trying to know the main difference between the two tire types. They would operate well in both in asphalt and gravel situations. The main distinction between the two types of tires is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot pop, gouge and puncture them because they are strong. These tires are more pricey compared to air pneumatic tires as they are made up of way more rubber. These tires are best suited for places like for example lumber yards and scrap yards where there might be plenty of sharp objects and debris on the ground.
Air pneumatic tires are able to be punctured accidentally. When this occurs, you can get flat tires from them. Before using a forklift with air pneumatic tires, check your work space and be sure that the yard is free of debris, sharp metals and nails. In most applications, regular air pneumatic tires work really great.
