Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names such as: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Just as the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit as they transport loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to pick up and move unstable or tall loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap way of transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best alternative.
Order Selector
The order picker or order selector is a piece machinery designed particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles that can work in aisles of less than six feet. They are extremely useful pieces of equipment during cycle counting situations as well as during physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more common.
