CAT Empty Container Handlers

Lester M. Sears was the gentleman who thought it could be good idea to modify the farm tractor for use by industry over 80 years ago. He made the "Model L," and although it may look a little obsolete now, it was packed with new ideas. The machine transformed and changed the materials handling industry.

The first truck that Lester offered innovations on has become the standard nowadays in the lift truck business. Amongst these important features include: rear-wheel steering, wheel drive, hydraulic lifting and tilting and high speed forward and equal reverse gears.

Lester began the "Towmotor" and afterward began CAT Forklifts, after being obtained by Caterpillar during 1965. With the same commitment to sensible solutions, commitment to new ideas and exceptional reliability, CAT enjoys thinking that they are direct descendants of Lester's. The Model L was really durable and effective that the prototype worked hard for over 30 years before finally retiring.

Caterpillar formed a joint venture during the year 1992 with MHI Ltd. or Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. They brought together financial and marketing strengths and technological strengths in the production of material handling machinery. The business has had their headquarters in Almere, the Netherlands since that time.

The company manufactures a complete series of warehouse machines also. The local CAT dealers are amongst the best within the business and provide more than 80 years of relevant experience.
